I think that there has to be some restorative trust in this city because we’ve been having people make deals and not everybody sitting at the table and it’s very hard to have access.

This is our moral crisis of the hour. Oakland is one of the cities that has had the highest level of sex trafficking in the country. And so for those of you who may not understand that, what that means is that youth under the age of eighteen have been brought to Oakland to engage in sexual activity for pay.

We need to get the money that is rightfully, ours here in Oakland and then administer it, obviously, with equity, in mind.
